Quantum Qbit

A free TurboScribe alternative

Transcribe as many files as you like, without an account, and without uploading them.

How the two compare

Both use the Whisper speech model. TurboScribe runs it on its servers: according to its own pricing page (checked October 2026) the free plan allows 3 files a day of up to 30 minutes each, and the paid plan costs $10 a month billed yearly for unlimited files up to 10 hours, speaker labels and bulk upload.

Quantum Qbit runs smaller Whisper models inside your browser. That makes it free with no daily limit, no sign-up and no upload, and it works offline after the first use. The trade-offs: accuracy is lower on difficult audio, long files are slower on a phone, and there are no speaker labels or bulk uploads.

Use this tool when privacy, cost or the daily limit matter most, and a server service when you need the highest accuracy on many long files.

How to transcribe without limits

  1. Choose your audio or video.
  2. Pick Balanced, or Accurate for Indian languages and noisy audio.
  3. Download TXT, SRT or VTT.

Frequently asked questions

Is my recording uploaded to a server?

No. The speech model is downloaded to your browser once and the audio is transcribed on your own phone or computer. The file never leaves your device.

Why is the first transcription slower?

The first time, your browser downloads the speech model (about 40 MB for Quick, 80 MB for Balanced, 250 MB for Accurate). After that it is cached and starts in seconds, even offline.

How long can the recording be?

There is no fixed limit. An hour-long lecture works on most laptops; on a phone, recordings under about 30 minutes are more comfortable. Lines appear while it works, so you can stop at any point and keep what is done.

Is this affiliated with TurboScribe?

No. Quantum Qbit is an independent site; TurboScribe is a trademark of its owner.
